La Jolla kelp

Mission Bay is the most convenient sportfishing departure point in San Diego. Seaforth Marina sits minutes from Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach and Point Loma, with free parking beside the slip and an easy walk to the boat — no shuttle, no line, no 4 a.m. cattle-boat check-in.
From the bay mouth we are fishing in under twenty minutes. The La Jolla kelp holds calico bass, yellowtail and white seabass, Point Loma gives up bass, bonito, barracuda and rockfish, and the flats inside the bay are perfect for halibut, first-timers and kids. When the water warms, the 9 Mile Bank puts yellowtail and bonito within a short run.
Every Fernandez Charters trip is private. You book the whole boat for up to four anglers, so the day belongs to your group: a half day for families staying in Mission Beach, a full day for a serious local crew, or a sunset cruise for visitors who want the coastline more than the fish. Rods, reels, bait, tackle, ice, snacks and water are included, and the captain handles the California fishing licenses question before you leave the dock.
