Who runs my charter?
Most trips are helmed by owner-operator Captain Pablo Fernandez. When his schedule is booked or a trip runs back-to-back, another fully certified captain takes the helm of the Kate Elizabeth.
Are the other captains held to the same standard?
Yes. Every relief captain holds a current U.S. Coast Guard license, is insured, and runs the same safety briefing, gear checks and trip plan Captain Pablo uses.
Will I know in advance?
If another certified captain is running your trip, you'll be told when the charter is confirmed — just call or text (619) 431-3070 any time to check who's at the helm.
What safety credentials are aboard?
Captain Pablo is a USCG Certified Master Captain, CDFW licensed guide, former Orange County ocean lifeguard, paramedic and Fire Department Captain. The Kate Elizabeth carries USCG-required safety equipment, and passenger safety is the primary objective on every voyage.
